It shows better than I get with my studies the authentic “Insularis” or “Cursivo Saxonio” hand-lettering of the VIII and XI centuries used by some people in Britain. The text on the accompanying poster reads: “Corwinus necandus est. Cadaver aq(ua) forti dissolvendum, nec aliq(ui)d retinendum. Tace ut potes”
Cursivo Saxonio’s dramatic, angular strokes make it ideal for headlines, short impactful texts on posters or packaging, and branding elements requiring a touch of gothic mystique. Its highly stylized nature, however, makes it unsuitable for body text or UI elements where readability is paramount. Long paragraphs set in this font would be difficult to decipher.
